5. Broof (t1), Broof (t2) and Broof (t3) * classifications in accordance with Decision 2006/600/EC for external fire performance.
6. Rigid mineral wool insulating core with high thermal performance (thermal transmittance of 0.39 W/m²K for the 100 mm thick LL LD core panel)
7. Good airborne sound insulation performance, with weighted sound insulation values (Rw) of up to 32 dB, depending on the core configuration and panel thickness. 
8. Longitudinal joint design with overlap for quick installation. For fire-resistant solutions, the joint includes an intumescent strip.

The importance of fire resistance in industrial roofs

The REI classification assesses the behaviour of a building component in the event of a fire over a specified period:

The higher the value associated with the REI classification, the longer the system maintains these safety performance levels. Furthermore, one of its main advantages is that the Cubigrec Roc LL HD panel can achieve up to 120 minutes’ fire resistance for thicknesses of 100 mm and 80 mm, and 90 minutes for thicknesses of 60 mm, without the need for additional sealing at the joint, thereby simplifying installation and ensuring high levels of safety.

The availability of classifications up to REI 120 means that Cubigrec Roc LL HD can be used in projects where specific fire resistance performance is required for the building envelope.

Cubigrec Roc LL HD: certified performance for industrial projects 

The fire resistance classifications available for Cubigrec Roc LL HD allow it to be used in various types of buildings, such as industrial units, logistics centres, agri-food facilities and other spaces used for production activities.

In addition to its certified fire performance for specific configurations and thicknesses, the panel incorporates a mineral wool core that contributes to the thermal and acoustic insulation of the roof. Combined with its A2-s1,d0 fire reaction classification and the various configuration options available, Cubigrec Roc LL HD offers a solution tailored to projects where passive fire protection forms part of the design requirements.

Case Study: San Pedro de Alcántara Sports Hall  

The San Pedro de Alcántara Sports Hall project is an example of how KingZip can transform an architectural envelope into a distinctive design feature. 

A continuous envelope that flows from façade to roof 

 In this project, the KingZip profiled slats fit the curved façade with millimetre precision. But what is most impressive is that the geometry does not stop there: the envelope extends continuously from the vertical walls to the roof, creating a sense of fluidity and unity across the entire volume of the building.  

 This enveloping effect is achieved thanks to the system’s ability to curve in multiple directions and adapt to three-dimensional shapes without interruptions or visible joints, a technical feat that would be difficult to achieve with other construction systems.

Their coordination enabled the creation of a technically precise and aesthetically seamless curved cladding, maximising the capabilities of the KingZip system.  

 Having seen it in practice, it is worth understanding why KingZip is now one of the most advanced solutions in the field of metal cladding.

What is KingZip? The technology that gives total freedom to architectural design 

KingZip is a standing seam system for façades and roofs, specifically designed to realise organic geometries with a high level of technical precision. It uses interlocking panels manufactured in continuous lengths from 1 to 150 metres, with the unique feature that they can be produced on-site thanks to mobile production units that are transported directly to the construction site.  

 This allows building envelopes to be constructed using very long panels, eliminating the need for longitudinal overlaps, which speeds up construction. 

Key features of KingZip: 

• – Total adaptability to complex geometries: it allows the creation of building envelopes with angular, convex, concave or conical architectural forms of great technical perfection. 

• – On-site fabrication: enables panels of up to 150 m without longitudinal joints, speeding up construction and avoiding fixing points.  

• – Highly durable finishes: available in 3000 or 5000 series coated aluminium alloy, or in raw aluminium, stuccoed raw aluminium and embossed raw aluminium, with the following finishes: PVDF or polyester. 

• – High performance: excellent structural, thermal and acoustic performance, and A1 fire reaction classification in accordance with standard EN 13501-1. Classified as Broof (t1/t2/t3) in accordance with standard EN 13501-5.

The Steel Framing system from Teczone | Kingspan uses cold-formed galvanized steel profiles as its main structural elements. These profiles are assembled either in the workshop or on site using self-drilling screws, allowing for an orderly and repeatable construction process.
It is a pre-industrialized and lightweight approach, designed to improve efficiency and quality throughout the building process.

The solution is made up of three integrated subsystems: the lightweight profile structure (TZ-Steel Framing); the interior linings, usually with plasterboard; and the “dry” exterior cladding, on which traditional finishes can be applied.
This modularity makes the system compatible with conventional steel or concrete building typologies.

2. Where it adds the most value: typical applications

Although it can be applied to larger buildings, Steel Framing is optimized for constructions of up to four storeys (ground floor + three).
Its most common uses include single-family and low-rise residential housing, offices, educational and healthcare buildings, indoor offices within industrial units, refurbishments, vertical extensions, lightweight roofs, and auxiliary structures.
Because it is compatible with commonly used façade and cladding systems, it integrates easily into mixed projects.

Example project

At Teczone | Kingspan, we highlight a development of 28 single-family homes (4,200 m² built) executed with 104 tonnes of lightweight steel structures, illustrating the scale and type of projects that can be carried out using this system.

3. On-site and operational advantages

Timelines and work organization

The system’s lightweight, pre-industrialized nature promotes component standardization and can help shorten construction times.
Assembly requires no heavy machinery and generally less highly specialized labor.
Because of the reduced structural weight, foundations are usually lighter, simplifying the process and reducing project duration.

Precision and integration of installations

Custom manufacturing (with round or oval punchings available) ensures dimensional accuracy and leaves the structure ready to accommodate building services within walls and floors, without chases.
This approach contributes to a cleaner, better-planned worksite.

4. Sustainable management and logistics of the system

The high structural efficiency allows for reduced steel consumption through optimized sections, while incorporating a significant proportion of recycled material.
Its low weight and optimized palletization reduce transport volume and therefore emissions.
As a dry-construction system, it also lowers water consumption and waste generation on site.
Reduced reliance on heavy equipment further minimizes environmental impact.

5. Range of profiles and standard configurations

Walls (interior and exterior)

Walls are built using a framework of horizontal and vertical profiles: C-shaped studs and U-shaped tracks, forming closed structural panels.
Lintels for openings (doors and windows) are made from two C-profiles forming a closed section.
As a reference, ranges include C-studs with web depths from 50 to 175 mm, flanges from 50 to 75 mm, thicknesses from 0.8 to 1.5 mm, and matching U-tracks.

Floors

Floors follow the same logic: C-beams, U-edge tracks, and cross braces (in C or U), joined with L-shaped connectors.
Depending on spans and loads, reference sections for beams typically range from 175 to 250 mm webs, 50 to 100 mm flanges, and 1.5 to 2.5 mm thicknesses.

Roofs

Flat or pitched roofs use C-beams, U-tracks, and bracing members.
For mono-pitch or gabled non-habitable roofs, trusses or lattices with C-profiles in the chords and diagonals help optimize the structure.

6. Engineering and technical support

The Kingspan | Teczone Technical Department offers comprehensive support: advice on system design, construction details, calculations, and structural sizing.
We also collaborate with external engineering firms specialized in designing or adapting projects to Steel Framing.
This partnership facilitates the integration of the system within existing project teams.

We propose an industrialized building approach based on galvanized steel profiles, ideal for low- and mid-rise projects where precision, lightness, and trade coordination are key.
