Teczone and Bantandicori: creating a lasting impact
At Kingspan | Teczone, we believe that construction can transform lives. That is why, for many years, we have been working with the NGO Bantandicori, an organisation founded in 2004 following a trip by a group of friends to Senegal, accompanied by a neighbour from Arbúcies who was returning to visit his family in Bantandicori, his home village.
That visit gave them a first-hand insight into the reality of life in the region’s rural communities and the difficulties they faced in such basic areas as access to water, healthcare and education. Following that experience, they decided to set up the NGO, with the aim of contributing to the development and well-being of the local population.
Since then, Bantandicori has spearheaded numerous projects centred on these three fundamental pillars. Under the leadership of its director, Toni Ridorosa, the organisation took a further step in 2021 by incorporating education as one of its priority areas of action. That same year, the first primary school project was designed, laying the foundations for improving access to education for the community’s children.
In 2022, we began our collaboration with this project by donating steel sheets for the primary school’s roofs. Thanks to the quality and durability of our materials, the roofs have remained in perfect condition over the years. The primary school now comprises three fully completed buildings.
The construction of the secondary school enabled the educational project spearheaded by the NGO to continue, expanding educational opportunities for young people in the community.
The buildings are constructed using bricks made by hand using a press designed specifically for the original project. These bricks are produced from a mixture of white sand, red sand and a small proportion of concrete, ensuring the mechanical properties and compressive strength required by the project.
In 2025, we renewed our commitment to Bantandicori to contribute to the construction of the secondary school. To this end, we donated 2,100 m² of 0.6 mm TZ-30 profile in pearl colour, as well as 200 metres of purlins for the roof structure. The educational complex comprises a total of eight buildings and twelve classrooms, and all the metal roofing has been supplied by Kingspan | Teczone.
In 2026, we continued to strengthen our commitment to Bantandicori through a further donation of 866.47 m² of TZ-30 profiles for the construction of a maternity hospital – a key facility for improving healthcare for pregnant women, mothers and newborns in the community – thereby helping to strengthen health services in the region.
Through initiatives such as this, we reaffirm our commitment to developing infrastructure that has a positive and lasting impact on communities, putting innovation and construction at the service of people.
